I’m Rohit V. Bhute, from Mumbai, India.
I am forging a career in Information Technology since June 2006. Web applications look mighty interesting to me. I’m very partial to open source technologies. As of now, I’m on a learning curve for a lot of stuff - PHP, Python, Perl, MySQL, Apache, CakePHP, Django, jQuery, WordPress, Linux and more.
Currently, I am working as a web developer in the Interactive Media section of Direxions Marketing Solutions. In the simplest of terms, it includes websites, mass e-mailers (these have double opt-in; so no spamming is done) and SMS. The job description involves PHP, MySQL and Linux; along with other associated tools.
I graduated from the University of Mumbai with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering in May 2006.
My home rig is an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3600+ sitting on an Asus M2N-MX mainboard built around the nForce 430 chipset; with 1 GB RAM and a ViewSonic VA1703 17 inch widescreen LCD monitor. It runs Ubuntu Linux. So if you need a tip, give me a shout.
If you want the usual list of interests - GNU/Linux, Open Source, Formula 1, anime, fan-fiction, current events, reading… YAWN…
I find it difficult to condense what I like into a few words. Ask a child what he likes - he will be off rambling about the whole world. I’m like that, I guess. You can start reading about what I like here.
